For best/solid print quality run the highest rated voltage and current, and print on thermal paper sheets (my printed test page is only on an old thermal fax paper roll). Also from the manufacturer's engineers, the printer can run on voltages as low as 10VDC, but the printing won't be as good. The printed voltage rating on the printer is 15VDC at 1.3A, but in talking with the engineers at Pentax/Brother, the best printing can be achieved with a power supply that can handle 3.0A (i.e. The power supply's female connector needs to have the physical dimensions of 5.5mm OD and 2.2 mm ID. For reference, here are the specifications for a power supply when you buy it from someone else.Message me before buying the printer so I can send an /PayPal invoice for a combined purchase. But if you really want to buy one from me, I can sell you a generic (adjustable) 110VAC power supply for an additional $25. You can buy a power supply elsewhere for much cheaper. I'm not in the business of selling power supplies for this printer.
